The touch interface really does work amazingly well for this game. I do miss the ability to drag a selection box to select multiple planets. Or maybe double-tap to select-all?
Galcon in silence is too peaceful though... the sound effects we all know and love would be a fun addition. (maybe holding the iphone upsidedown at the end of a round would play the cancan?) :)
Do you think there will ever be hope for a multiplayer over wifi? Is the hardware capable?
But VERY polished and excellently done! I'm so happy to have it on my iphone.
(What IS with people who "review" apps in the store without even buying them first, mostly just to gripe about the price being too high for their taste? Sheesh.)
- Pants, who really really needs to try to find more time to play multiplayer galcon |

I actually have them coded already .. but unfortunately when I enable the SFX the music you're listening to stops :( I may have to investigate the issue a bit more. I think it'd be best if it were somehow optional but your iPod music kept playing.

Anyways, ten dollars? Rawr. Luckily, I love galcon too much, or else I'd have second thoughts! |

Also, for those of that don't know, pressing the home button and the power button at the same time takes a screenshot. Not sure about a screencast, but screenshots are good too.
I like Vacuum the most.
I can beat Classic mode on Cabin Boy, Ensign, Lieutenant, Commander, Captain, and Admiral.
I'm pretty much unable to be Admiral 1 stripe at the time.. that one is hard!post updated on Jul 21, 2008 @ 11:16am |

Just out of curiosity, did you have to pay a fee to test drive Galcon on the iPhone/iPod Touch? I thought developers had to pay 100 dollars or so to get their apps on the iPhone/iPod Touch.
Thanks!
EDIT: Poll: If you got the app for iPhone/iPod Touch, which did you get it for? iPhone or iPod Touch?post updated on Jul 27, 2008 @ 11:06am |

How much does it cost? I'm still an aspiring developer who can make a "Hello World" app lol, but in the future it might be useful. |

Now that the forums are working again, I thought I'd post offering up my appreciation for this great game.
I bought the Ipod Touch version and was then motivated enough to pick up the desktop version.
Still, I'd love to see multiplayer functionality added to the Touch version. Be sure to keep us updated Phil, and keep up the good work mate :) |

I wasn't that into the trial of desktop Galcon, it just moved at a much different pace from the iPhone goodness I was used to, but iGalcon is great. Fast matches, usually less than a minute or two, non-verbal strategy (no chat), and plenty of online players at all times. Hope to see you guys there soon ^^
