Hey,

Announcing Galcon 1.3.0 - with the new mods system completed!  This release includes the classic Missions, six example mods, and six *amazing* new missions and mods by Galcon users!

The highlights include:

- ThirdMissions - A set of Missions by ThirdParty, these missions are geared towards advanced players who want to hone their skills.

- Gnip Nuke - Ever want to just BLOW UP A PLANET?  Well, now you can.  SirGnip has brought us this great fun new mod!  Neutralize planets by the dozen with your nukes!

- Symmetry - Another jewel by ThirdParty - finally, you can play a fair round against the computer and see how you stack up against it.  All maps are symetrical, and thus guaranteed  to give equal positioning to all players.

- Map Editor - Galcon now includes a map editor, allowing you to try creating your own planet layouts and try them against the computer.

- Gnip Elite - Another one by SirGnip - this one lets you have an "elite fleet" which gets special bonus when attacking planets.  Quite fun!

There are a handful of other new mods, so check them out!  The best bit is, you won't have to download and install the mods by hand anymore, they are included right in the game under the "Single Player" menu item!  Please come to the website and post in the forum and tell SirGnip and ThirdParty thanks for their great mods!

Fix for windows users who are seeing duplicates of the "example" mods:

Go to c:\program files\galcon\mods

Remove all ex_* folders.  (They were installed with a previous version of Galcon, and aren't needed anymore.)

I don't seem to be able to download the new version. When I try to go download the galcon-install.exe, all I get is the 1.2.2 I downloaded yesterday from the same comp.

Yes, that one was great.  But the first time I ran it I had to abort it because some stupid bot fleet that was slower than the planet it was chasing just didn't want to give up on it.  And then I got an exception with something about moons.

Thanks tons for including the mods in this realase.  Tons of fun!

One minor heads up.  I have a version (not sure which) of mission_newbie.zip in my mods dir, and when I run 1.3.0, select "single player" and mouse over the "mission_newbie" thumbnail, I get this exception:

The mission_newbie.zip contains a icon.jpg file with dimensions of 180x144.  Don't know if this has any bearing, but thought it might be helpful with the rect-related exception.

Yeah - I'm in the midst of fixing a handful of bugs.  I figured this release would be a bit rocky for the first 24 hours :)  Thanks to everyone who braved it.

I'll be putting out a bug-fix release soon, which should have the main problems cleaned out.  :)

If you see any crashes, please post them here with details on how you made it crash though!  Super helpful!
