Hi.
I just played a few levels of Galcon and I like it. Here are some of my thoughts.

Well, this is what I want and if it were so i'd be happy to pay money for a digital download of this game.

 1.  On instant action the game screen only takes up one quarter of my screen. I have a 30 inch widescreen monitor so don't like being reduced back to a 15 inch game play area. I tried Ie's percentage increase to make the game area bigger but it's locked and remains small.
I wanna play Galcon on full/wide screen.

 2.  It's a nice and short game. I like that. Despite loving Risk, i don't usually play it because it just takes up too much time (i played the pc version but it sucks).
However, Not every gamer in the world wants a frenetic pace. When playing single player Galcon I would like the option to be able to go to a turn based system. I'd like (and enjoy) the luxury of being able to freeze the game and take time to strategise as i assign the number of ships i send out and to where. I'm not saying that's how the game should only be, just that i want that as an option.

 3.  I would like more varied sound effects such as planet names being spoken in cool electronica style voices when i click on them, launch souns as the fleet takes off, starcraft style acknowlegements of orders if i redirect, different enemy sounds so when an enemy attacks my world there is one sound of popping than when i attack theirs. Also, a victory sound effect fore every planet i conquer.

 4. I'd like fleets to skirmish a little when they pass through each other. not exactly go into a full battle but at least both sides losing five or ten percent. That could make a huge difference to whether or not you have enough left in your fleet to take over your target.

  5.  I only played a few levels so far so i don't know if it's the case but i dont want the grid there all the time. Be nice to have a customisable option for what i see on the screen actually.

Hope you don't mind me makeing some of these points. They come right from my very first impressions.

You can play Galcon in full/wide screen if you download it. You can also play for free for thirty days before you buy it. And about the turn based system, that would make Galcon a completely different game. You would also find if you played the multi player version that entirely too many people take entirely too much time "strategizing." (What they're really doing is waiting for someone else to attack) It's not uncommon in games to see people sitting around for fifteen minutes before they move. All the time in the world to strategize. You should play those single player games just like they are until you can beat the computer opponents at their highest level. Then you'll find you won't need time to come up with complex strategies. Most of my strategies involve, "Which cluster do I want? Where are these guys likely to go?" Then I just go get it. Galcon is 90% tactics and 10% strategy. Tactics you just pick up as you go along.

I like your other suggestions, and I hope Phil will finally make a release adding some new features! There seems to be a huge feature list that will take a lot of time to implement. I'm sure he'll get to it when he has time.

Yeah, sorry for my hasty and a bit ignorant post. I'd just played it a few times and was enthusiastic.

I'm playing the demo now. On my 30" monitor it looks great. I was surprised at how my brain quickly started to figure things out after some training. I'm playing on hard but it might be a while before i level up.

Anyway i really like the game and i'm surprised it's not more of a phenomenon. I couldn't get into games like darwinia, peggle, flow etc.

I would like an option to control the speed of the game so when i'm playing a complex singler player mission i can slow it down and have a bit more space to think. I sometimes cheat by pausing it.

The demo plays only one song. is there more in the full version as it gets samey after a while. Also, do the dreams go away? ;) i close my eyes when sleeping and see little triangle floating around.
