Location: Eastern U.S.A. | I've released a new bot, named "Libra", You can get it from my Bot Tourney or Symmetry mods.
Libra is entirely designed around the concept of going in for the kill when ahead. It fares well against aggressive bots like Kamikaze and Cobra, since it knows better than to keep expanding while they're attacking. It's weaker against slower bots like Lass, sometimes failling to use a good starting position for fear of being ambushed.
Compared to Cobra, most people will find Libra to be easier. The exception is those of you who figured out how to exploit Cobra's weaknesses; you'll find that some of the strategy holes have been plugged.
Other minor changes:
- "Symmetry" now includes the option to restart a level with the sides switched, if you're playing a non-symmetric level.
- Fixed a bug in Cobra's team play.
- The ThirdBots library now also includes my Newbie emulator and a bot called "Exterminator" which is, if you can believe it, a slightly more aggressive version of Kamikaze. I wanted a Copycat-type bot that had the ability to finish off its enemies; this was the result. It's not very strong, but it wins most situations that Kamikaze would win, and a few others. |
