Would it make sense to create another thread called something like "Downloads here", make it "sticky" and list all of the mod's with links that are currently available for download? This way when people come to the mod forum, they don't have to pick their way thru 20+ threads (and growing) to find the current downloads. Phil, for this to work, is it possible to make a specific post "editable" by
multiple people so that all the mod authors could be responsible for keeping their links updated? Or, heck, if that is too much, I'd volunteer to create and keep the links updated (based on what I see come thru the forum) as long as Phil could make a new thread I start sticky...
Could look something like this:
beginnermode1.2.1.zip - highlight planets to provide hints for beginners
gnip_revolt - gameplay mod where planets ocassionally revolt
gnip_nuke - gameplay mod that gives the player nukes
gnip_elite - gameplay mod with powered-up fleets
thirdedit.zip - a greatly improved map editor
whiteboard.zip - whiteboard proof of concept

Location: Chi-town | Tell ya what. I'm gonna create a thread called "Download Mod's Here" and put the list of mods currently available for download in it. If I see a new mod release post in the forum, I'll add a link and short description. Every once in awhile, I'll make a minor edit to the page to bump it to the top to keep it in view.

Sounds fine for now ... Down the road a piece I'm thinking about having some kind of automated listing with ratings and stuff, but not today :)
